At Starcast you have the privilege of dancing in a professional facility built for dance. We offer large studios with windows for parent viewing. The comfortable viewing area has chairs and couches for parents to sit, relax and enjoy their child dance.
Our studio sprung flooring is what sets us apart! Safety for our children comes first at Starcast. The studio flooring contains 1,000 plus rubber pads based on Nike shoe technology that absorbs 95% of impact on your childs' joints and bones. Much easier on a child then plywood over plywood. Yikes! The icing on the cake is the Marley flooring that is non-slip with welded seems, so no cracks to build up bacteria. Nothing but the best for our dancers!
The studio is also equipped with professionally installed ballet barres and full length mirrors. You will enjoy our spacious changeroom, washroom with shower facility and our student homework and waiting room, toddler play zone, and lots and lots of parking. The Recreational classes participate in the Annual Starcast Recital in June and spend the year developing technique and strength while enjoying the love of dance in a fun-filled class atmosphere.
Our Competitive training starts with our junior dancers at the age of 5 or 6 and progresses to our senior dancers up to 17 years of age. The most important age to start a dance competitor is when they are junior dancers. Children from the age of 6 to 8 must be taught proper dance technique during those critical years if they wish to become competitive and be comparable to the larger Calgary studios. Some studios will allow unexperienced teen teachers to teach their youngest competitors to save costs. At Starcast we know that to develop and train a dancer properly, you must have your senior most experienced teachers work with these children. As a result of this action, our junior dancers have become among the strongest dancers in Alberta and are very successful in competition and examinations. Even after six months, you can see the difference of a dancer that has been properly trained.

At Starcast we are seriously fun! That means we set the standard for the balance between structure, discipline and FUN! Our studio is very diverse with competitive and non-competitive students ranging from 2 years old to adult.
We are proud of our safe, nurturing, positive environment and we strive to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Starcast offers many extras for our students such as movie nights, a student Christmas Party with Santa, studio exams, school performances, and competitions. You may have seen our dancers perform at Heritage Park or at the Alberta Games. The grand-finale of our dance year is our annual Show of Stars dance recital "where every child is a star".
